What is 360° Liposuction
360° Liposuction is a term that emphasizes a total person approach and not just a body part. I will assess your total figure and together we can make a plan to give you the shape you want. Together we will look at your front back and sides – 360° Liposuction!
360° Liposuction vs Regular Liposuction
When Liposuction started (Regular Liposuction) the focus was on improving safety and getting better results. The work of Dr Klein has allowed the use of finer cannulas and safety. This has allowed liposuction to become very popular and many surgeons have added to the expertise that has made liposuction the great procedure that it is today. As we continue to improve and get better and better results it has been important to emphasize the total body results. This has brought about the focus on 360° Liposuction.
Is 360° Liposuction good for me?
Yes! 360° Liposuction is assessing all of your bodies contours and deciding where you have too much fat and where you do not have enough. We can take the fat out of the areas you don’t like and put it into areas you do like, such as face, buttocks, breasts. This is known as Fat Transfer.
The benefits of 360° Liposuction
The benefits of are many. Not only do you get rid of your muffin top, love handles, stubborn belly fat, flabby arms (bat wings) but the results are in proportion. The benefits of 360° Liposuction can be applied to the arms and the legs. I don’t just correct one body part. I will bring your whole body into proportion.
So is 360° Liposuction worth it? Absolutely YES!
Is 360° Liposuction Safe
Arped and Giorgio Fischer started liposuction in 1974. They were gynaecologists. Before Arped and Giorgio surgeons had been attempting to remove fat with sharp cutting instruments. They introduced blunt cannulas. This caused less blood loss and was much safer. Their early work focused on further improving instruments and safety.
The next major break through came when American dermatologist Dr Klein invented Tumescent Liposuction in 1986. He performed all his liposuction without general anesthetic. This gave a large increase in safety.
Garments
In the early days of liposuction there was a lot of concern about performing liposuction around the full circumference of limbs, especially fingers. Compression garments were being used to reduce swelling, bleeding and bruising. The early garments were prone to cutting off the blood flow to the fingers and toes. This caused alarm amongst surgeons and generated a fear of performing full circumference liposuction ( 360° Liposuction). Improvements in techniques and in garments have allowed us to conquer full circumference liposuction. We now routinely perform 360° Liposuction and get great results.
How long is recovery?
The average person will take two weeks before going back to work. You will need to wear the garment for two weeks. If you get any bruising it will take two weeks to go.
Having said that there are people who cannot bear to stay home and will go back to work the next day. Not just executives sitting at a desk but Air Conditioning technicians crawling around in roof spaces. We are all different and we need to do what our body tells us.
Here are some constants that will guide you.
- Larger volumes of fat removal are more tiring.
- More areas treated gives a larger surface area of discomfort and stress to your body.
- General anesthetic is an extra stress that adds to recovery.
- If you have other illnesses you recovery will be slower.
- If you are physically and mentally fit it will be easier.
- Smokers don’t do as well as non-smokers.
